Experience

My career in the mental health field started in 2010, working for the local mental health authority crisis center and its mobile outreach team. During that time, I gained extensive knowledge in serious mental illness symptomology, diagnosing, crisis assessments, suicide assessment, self-harm, differentiating between psychosis, delirium, and drug-induced psychosis, case management, and emergency detentions. I have continued honing my skills while working in a hospital setting.

I started working in private practice in 2014. During that time, I worked with adolescents, couples, families, and individuals and began figuring out what clients I worked best with and defining my current niche. In 2017 I opened my private practice Empowering You Counseling Services, LLC, in San Antonio, TX. www.empoweringyoucounselingservices.com.

I now primarily work with anxiety, ADD, depression, suicide/self-harm, shame, and trauma. I am trauma-informed and EMDR trained. My leading theory is Relational Cultural Theory (RCT), but I often incorporate Narrative, Somatic, and CBT techniques.
